Inside My Head design

I've been super busy with school lately and haven't really had much time to do anything. It has been stress city for some time now but I graduate in three weeks from today, so I should have way more time to focus on my art. But that is a post for a later date. Recently, Threadless had a contest with the theme being "My Favorite Tee" and I planned on entering that contest. There were so many incredible designs that I loved and I really hope they win. Unicorn

I drew this not too long ago and was instantly proud of it. This particular drawing has the exact art style that I always aim to achieve, but I was able to get there so easily with this one. Alot of people have told me that they would like this design on a shirt so I'm looking into redesigning it so it would fit more appropriately on a t-shirt. Enjoy and expect this quality of art from now on!

More Sharks!

Just thought I'd add the newest shark drawing I've done to this.
I noticed many great artists draw sharks during shark week and I really wanted to be part of the fun. This is the Pacific Sharpnose shark!

Just a quick post in honor of one of my favorite weeks on television.
I plan on making more if I have time, but I have to make sure I focus on my freelance work first, so this will have to hold everyone over for now.

The Polish Ambassador

Hey all!
Its been awhile.
I've been busy with school and job hunting so I haven't had much time for art. One of my favorite electronic music artists is The Polish Ambassador. I decided that it would be really cool and look good in my portfolio if I made a poster for him. He's been very good about responding to my messages everytime I've tried to contact him and its really cool being able to make something for someone knowing that they'll be able to see it. I left some room on the edges for tour dates in case he likes it enough to want to use it in the future.

Blind

Just thought I would post my newest drawing that I've made on here to keep my blog current. I made this guy because I don't have enough human character designs. I added the puppet because I can never JUST draw a human. I had to make it interesting.

Threadless

As many of you may know by now, Threadless.com has become a great online t-shirt retailer. Every once in awhile, they have theme design contests, and the current theme is "Threadless Loves Characters." Character design being one of my favorite and strongest art forms, I decided to use some of my designs. The first one I kind of just through together but it got rejected early, so I decided to use one of my most appealing designs for a new entry. It is still being scored and is getting much better scores than the last one. Here are my two submissions, first my latest entry and second my rejected design. Dwebble

I haven't had much time to draw or post anything new for awhile since I've been working on all my final projects from school but I made some time to finish this drawing. I've been wanting to make a new drawing of me for awhile and I thought it would be cool to do that with my Pokemon team from the new game. I had trouble fitting all of them into the same scene so I decided to just finish with what I had. I may come back to that project in the future but for now I plan on focusing on some left over art projects I've been wanting to do before I start working on my animation.

Programming

One of the classes that I've been taking this semester is called Multimedia Programming. We've been learning how to use Flash to make things like calculators and flash games. My final for that class will be to make a 2D sidescrolling game in the style of old nintendo games like Megaman and Contra.
Here is the design sheet I made for the game. I may make some changes between and then but I'll try to make it be as enjoyable for the user as I can.

The start of something big

I've been planning on making an animated short for quite some time now but haven't really had much time to dedicate towards the idea. Over the past year or so I've been able to formulate the potential storyline and characters and came to one final image. The story will star an old Pelican fisherman named Captain Gulliver who is trying to redeem himself as the best fisherman around. I have most of the story thought out but haven't spent as much time on the character design.

Now that the semester is finally slowing down, it will become much easier for me to focus more time on this project and I should get things down much quicker now that I know exactly what I have in mind. I plan on finishing the animation before I graduate and plan on posting much of my progress here. Stay tuned for more updates, for now here is a picture of Captain Gulliver.

All up to date

This is some of my newest artwork. My linework now is much more smooth and my ability to color digitally is at its very best. My characters have become much more original and I've developed my style very well.
I'll probably post less often from now on, but I'll be sure to share every drawing I make. I try to keep this as current as I can .

 This is just a random robot sketch. Appreciate it!

 I wanted to draw a chupacabra in its more mythical monster style. I thought it would be funny to show it attacking a goat pinata and so this drawing was born.

 This moose creature has kind of become my trademark drawing. When people ask me to draw something for them, this is usually what I give them. I wanted to make a cool icon with this image on it so I created this. I've been using it for a lot of my blogs and websites.

 These three monsters were the main characters for my final project for my 2D Animation class. The animated short was about a man trying to get some sleep while monsters were having a party under his bed. These are some of my favorite characters that I have ever drawn and I'll most likely bring them back again. I would also like to remake the animation in the future as well.

 I made this one a few weeks ago. This is more like a warm up drawing to get me back into the rhythm of drawing. I should be able to keep this quality and improve my skills even more in the very near future.

Almost finished here

This will be one of the last posts before I'm up to date with all of my new art. Then I'll be able to dedicate more time to talking about each individual piece of artwork instead of just dropping a ton of drawings all at once like I've been doing. Most of these below are fanart from things that have had a big influence on me as an artist.

 This is a fanart piece from Megaman, which has always been one of my favorite video game series growing up. I'm a huge fan of robots and these games were always packed with them in every level.

 This is a Mario Kart tribute. I've grown up surrounded by the games and have a lot of memories playing it with all of my friends and family. These characters aren't particularly my favorite in the series, but I thought they would be the most fun and challenging characters for me to draw.

 This one right here is one of my favorites. These two characters were created by a very talented artist named Zach Bellissimo. He is probably one of my favorite artists of all time. He has a really unique style unlike your average artist and he has always been an inspiration for me. STILL catching up

These drawings are some of the first ones I've made using programs like photoshop and illustrator to add color. I start all of my artwork by drawing and inking it on paper, then I scan it and fix it up digitally. I've learned many more photoshop tricks than what you see with these. I only have a few more posts before I catch up with my current artwork.
Most of these are still over a year old.

 All of my favorite artists seem to have a drawing of them with their favorite Pokemon. I thought I would follow in their footsteps, and being a pretty huge Pokemon fan myself, I really enjoyed making this one.

 One of my favorite musical artists is Deadmau5. His music had had such a big impact on me, that I even got a Deadmau5 tattoo on my wrist! I thought it would be a great idea to do a Deadmau5 drawing. I wasn't as skilled back then as I am now so I will come back and make a more updated version of this at a later time.

 With this drawing, I really felt like I had finally got the hang of coloring my art digitally. I noticed a huge improvement in my own artistic ability from that point on. By this time I had also completed my character design class and learned a lot about drawing. The art classes I took really helped me become a better artist and I've been able to use these skills in almost every piece of art I make.

Catching up

I'm still in the process of catching up my blog with all of my old artwork. Here is more of my older art. Everything here was made before I had any digital coloring skills. I few of these were for my character design class. That class taught me a ton of valuable skills that I use with almost every piece of art I make now. I used prismacolor colored pencils for all of these.

 This is a self portrait I made for my character design class a little over a year ago. I'll probably make a new drawing of myself in the very near future.

 The two seagulls below are going to be in an upcoming animated short I plan on making. The animation has been an on going project for some time now, but it has been moving along much faster lately. And with my improved artistic abilities, it should be even better.

This is my fist post using blogspot. I've been using this site to keep track of my favorite artists for some time, but now I'm planning on using it show off some of my own art. Since this is my first post, I thought I could lay down some of my old drawings, and then bring out the new ones later.

I'll start by posting some of my old hand made drawings. These were all before I really learned how to color my line art digitally. Many of these drawings are over a few years old and my art style is drastically different.
After this post I will drop another collection of my older art, and then I plan on posting my newer stuff.
